Cleaning shedule

SF-Industrial and Slimline Water Cooler Ranges

The stainless steel sink top and cabinet of the water cooler should be cleaned regularly. Abrasive agents or scourers should not be used, as this could scratch the material. Gentle soap and water is recommended.

DAILY:

  1. Check the general cleanliness of the watercooler stainless steel sink top and both drinking taps (bubbler and cup filler). Use gentle soap and water to clean the drinking taps. Operate the taps to flush away any soap residue with sufficient water.
  2. Ensure the sink top drain is clear of debris and that the water drains away adequately. Please advise your maintenance engineer if the drain becomes blocked or the water does not drain away sufficiently.

MONTHLY:

  1. Clean the exterior of the water cooler cabinet with gentle soap and water.
  2. Ensure the ventillation grilles on each side of the cabinet are clear and are not blocked with lint or dust. Please advise the maintenance engineer if the ventilation grilles become congested with dust or lint which is not accessible from the outside of the cabinet. Please also ensure that the ventilation grilles are unobstructed - there should be no obstruction from 200mm (8") of either side of the grilles.

Acrospa / Ecospa when fitted with Pumped Waste System

Please note, the Acrospa and Ecospa are generally a Point of Use unit, however some of our Ecospa / Acrospa units are fitted with either a pumped waste system or a gravity drain.

Firstly, please note: the pumped waste system is purely for cold drinking water - we have found this system to sometimes be abused ie. the drip tray waste is used for solids (eg. chewing gum) and other unsuitable liquids such as fizzy drinks, chocolate, or hot beverages. This causes fungi and bacteria to grow inside the pump resevoir which in turn causes the automatic float mechanism in the pump to cease functioning correctly. This results in the pump flooding and leaking out of the machine. The pipes and even the drain itself could block.

In addition to the general servicing, every six months the pumped waste system should be treated with a sanitising solution such as Aqua Dosa. Please also check for any blockages within the system.

Should the water cooler be situated in an area where abuse is likely to occur we would suggest the following preventative maintenance:

Weekly: Check the Drip Tray is not blocked.

Monthly: Add sanitiser (aqua Dosa or similar) direct to pump tank or simply pour into the Drip Tray, and allow to stand for five minutes before allowing water to be dispensed into the Drip Tray to flush through the pump. Aqua Dosa is available in 100ml bottles for a single appliance, or 1litre bottles for several water coolers.
